Since the earliest cave paintings, art has told a story. It is a visual record of time spent in the process of creation. It also sometimes conveys narrative. From the classic comic strip to suggestive still lifes to the great graphic novels and memoirs, artists across time share a part of themselves whether real or imagined. In this class we will explore several formats of narrative art through exercises and small in-class assignments. Students will have the opportunity to develop these into a finished project or create their own concept.
